Nik is a musician, producer and sound designer, working across the areas of performance, composition and production. His practice encompasses the creation of soundtracks for theatre and dance performance. Recent work includes ‘Oops a Daisy’, ‘Round in Circles’ and ‘Babychill’ (Starcatchers), ‘Cloud Man’ (Ailie Cohen Puppets) ‘Museum of Dreams’ (TAG Citizens Theatre), and ‘Intensions’ (Articulate Animal). Nik has been a collaborator on residencies with a number of dance companies and theatre practitioners. As a live musician he has performed with various bands, musicians and theatre projects on guitar, bass, drums, percussion and live looping, and has had record releases in Europe and the USA and production credits including Niki King, The Mike Kearney Ka-tet, Puchi and 3 Bag Brew.
Nik has a particular interest in the role of sound in story telling and in creative play within a theatre context. He will be exploring work in these areas over the coming year as Artist-in-Residence with Starcatchers.
